The car wash numbers published on this site and on the YouTube channel are a record of what one car wash did. They are not a forecast of what you will earn, and they are not typical of anything.

Stephen owns and operates a single eight-bay self-serve car wash in the Midwest. At the end of each month he collects the revenue, counts it on camera, and publishes his profit and loss for that month, including gross collections, each operating expense line, the mortgage payment, and the resulting cash flow. Those figures are historical, specific to that one location, that one month, that one market, and that one owner’s financing. They are unaudited and self-reported. They are published because a record of what actually happened is more useful than a projection, not because they represent a result anyone else should expect.

They are not average results. They are not a projection, an estimate, or a promise. They are not evidence that a car wash you buy will produce similar results, or any result at all. Results at any car wash depend on factors that are specific to that wash and largely outside anyone’s control, including purchase price, financing terms, location and traffic, local competition, weather, water and utility rates, the condition of the equipment at purchase, deferred maintenance you do not discover until later, insurance and tax costs, theft and vandalism, and how much work the owner personally does. Several of those have swung the published monthly cash flow figure by a factor of four between consecutive months at this wash. Individual months at this location have varied substantially. Any single month presented on its own, including a good one, will overstate or understate the business.
